Hanging on checking for updates

We have a few PCs down with synapse hanging on this.
The only PCs that are still working are because they haven't been reset yet today.

That takes a long time to fail (20 minutes) ?

And then this comes up

I cant turn off daylight savings either.
I tried adjusting the clock up and down 14 minutes .. no luck.

Another PC got this.


Is this a Nov 1st thing ?

Hmm. I wonder if it's because while on holiday overseas ( I'm in china at present ), I let the compkarori.com domain lapse
So, it can't check for updates.

Having said that it's working fine for me in China

Certainly my PCs are not ahead or behind.

Update: the synapse.exe you gave me worked great.

I guess the update failing exposed a logic error elsewhere.
