We will be looking at creating HL7 interfaces to equipment that issue reports in HL7 format. These include EKG machines, spirometry and laboratory equipment. We will list here any that we can test.
When looking for equipment ... what (? HL7) specifications would be ideal to interface with Synapse ? I think my group might purchase a Spirometry machine. Any tips ?
I am currently working with Schiller to ensure that the results produced by their equipment can be imported directly into Synapse EMR. They do spirometry equipment inter alia. I can read their HL7 results, but their HL7 interface is still a significant additional cost as it is a licensed third party addon. They also produce other types of reports which I may be able to process.
I'll definitely be buying some "automated BP monitors". Could you import the results from any of these beasts ? How about this one ? http://www.schilleramerica.com/products/powerslave,id,171,nodeid,616,_country,usa,_language,us.html
I think my group was thinking of this one http://www.quickmedical.com/bloodpressure/bptru/bpm300.html Doesn't look interfaceable.
The Schiller device you link to has a RS232 interface so, this would link to a PC which would then grab the results. They should then be available to be imported directly automatically into Synapse.
